Laboratório Ferreira da Silva
Monuments
Part of the Museum of Natural History and Science at the University of Porto, the Ferreira da Silva Laboratory was opened to the public as a museum and cultural space in 2021. A landmark laboratory and educational facility in the history of chemistry in Portugal, a visit to the laboratory allows you to travel back to the 1930s and 1940s, not only because of the instruments and other equipment on display and used here at the time, but also because of the Art Deco aesthetic that characterizes the space.
The Ferreira da Silva Laboratory is also part of a project in partnership with the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra and the National Museum of Natural History and Science of the University of Lisbon.
