This is one of the oldest bakeries in the north of the country and has maintained its quality and tradition since 1898. Located in Foz do Douro and which makes everything in-house, it has the most exquisite delicacies such as brown bread, saloio bread [sourdough], chaparro bread, beetroot bread, corn and sunflower bread, tomato bread, carrot bread, spinach bread, soy bread, sweet broa, bolo-rei, pão-de-ló [sponge cake], convent sweets, cakes, biscuits, jams, honey, cheese and quince cheese. Baked in a wood-fired oven, the bread and broa [cornbread] fill the space with an unmistakable aroma. With a heritage of over 100 years, Padaria Formosa continues to provide quality bread to the city of Porto on a daily basis.
