The name itself points to the beginning of the Portuguese Civil War, a time marked by famine and plague when D. Miguel came to power. When D. Maria II was named Queen of Portugal, the city was finally able to slowly yet painfully rebuild. The restaurant honours the many adversities overcome by the Porto and honours the legacy of the people.
