Museu de História da Medicina Maximiano Lemos

Dates from October 1933, at the initiative of Professor Luís de Pina, the foundation of Museu de História da Medicina Maximiano Lemos da Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade do Porto. Each room of the Museum was named after a professor from Porto’s Medical School who improved the studies on the history of medicine. The exhibition is arranged in a chronological order, from the dawn of human existence to the present day. Centred on the history of medical science, the Museum's collections are diverse and of great value for their rarity and quality of execution. Paintings, photos, medical and surgical equipment and machines, Pharmacy’ objects, medical book, among others, make up the vast and diverse holdings of the Museu Maximiano Lemos.
