This Museum, which operates in the premises of Igreja do Corpo Santo de Massarelos, has on display seventy pieces of sacred art, paintings, jewellery, vestments and manuscripts, dating from the sixteenth to the twentieth centuries.
These pieces include the Queen D. Maria I’s Royal Mantle Veil, given by the Monarch to the Confraria do Corpo Santo de Massarelos in 1790, and which after 8 months of conservation and restoration works in a laboratory, can now be contemplated.
In addition to the Queen D. Maria I's Royal Mantle Veil, there is also a silver monstrance (16th century), the book “A Arte de Navegar” (from 1746), the triptych canvases (17th century) and the nativity scene by the school “Machado de Castro” (18th century).
April to September - Monday to Saturday: 10am-1pm / 2pm-6pm
October to March - Monday to Saturday: 2pm-6pm
