Complexo Desportivo Monte Aventino
Sports facility
Federação Portuguesa de Ténis (Portuguese Tennis Federation) will manage the Complexo Desportivo do Monte Aventino (Monte Aventino Sports Complex), in Porto, for a period of 20 years, making investments to transform the space into a "centre of excellence".
Vasco Costa, president of the Federação Portuguesa de Ténis, stated that the intention is not to the Complexo Desportivo do Monte Aventino "be bound solely to Porto", revealing the objective of "making it a leading venue to practise tennis at a national and international level".
"We are doubling the capacity of this complex and increasing its uses, something that, in this case, is suitable to do with partnerships. The city lacks sports facilities and when we find excellent partners such as Federação Portuguesa de Ténis, we take the opportunity to speed up processes", said Rui Moreira, Mayor of Porto.
