The Open University is the only public institution of higher education for Distance Learning, offering degree-level courses (first degrees, masters and doctorates) and Lifelong Learning courses anywhere in the world. The teaching programme is in accordance with the Bolonha Process and since 2008 all courses have been taught via e-learning. This was the year in which the Open University became a leader in its field in Europe in e-learning as a consequence of recognition of its Virtual Teaching Model.
