Education
The Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences is, at the University of Porto, the school that carries out teaching and research in the areas of Psychology and Education Sciences and began its activities in 1980. Currently, nearly 2000 students attend our degree programmes, Integrated Masters, Masters and PhDs. Our students have achieved a significant presence in the social fabric in areas such as education, justice, health, central and local public administration, sociocultural activities, work in companies, etc.
FPCEUP also focuses on continuing education programs, aiming to meet the requirements in terms of professional, civic and cultural training which are felt throughout life in contemporary societies.
In addition to teaching, the FPCEUP develops research activities, houses two research centres funded by FCT-Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia and various research structures (laboratories, observatories, resource centres, etc.). Through these structures, it is also committed to provide services to the community, multiplying its research themes and respective funding institutions of the projects by offering services such as counselling and therapy in psychology, consulting services, training and services for education and family.
Internationalisation plays an important role, not only because of the growing number of projects and protocols established in partnership with foreign institutions, but also by the increase of the student flow and the exchange of teachers and researchers, through cooperation and mobility programmes.
With more than 35 years of history, FPCEUP looks towards the future and is increasingly committed to quality education and to promote an institutional culture of research and social justice.
