Pastoras Beach
Beaches
The Pastoras beach has a Blue Flag in addition to a Golden Beach award. The beach is delimited by the Molhe de Felgueiras and the Molhe Norte; these coastal landforms protect bathers from the wind, giving this beach unique characteristics. From here, where the Douro meets the Atlantic, it is possible to take two paths: one to the North, where the stylish and cosmopolitan area of Foz begins, or one to the East, towards the romantic garden Passeio Alegre. The beach’s name comes from bygone days when shepherdesses brought their lambs to graze here and smell the sea air.
