French low cost airline, it was founded in late 1965 with the name Transavia Limburg N.V.
In 1991, the year it celebrated 25 years, Transavia became a subsidiary of KLM, an airline from the Netherlands.
Since December 2004, its business name changed from Transavia Airlines to transavia.com.
In 2006, it underwent restyling. The staff received new uniforms, designed by Broeckmans Fashion House, the aircraft adopted a new exterior look and all interiors were refurbished.
The fleet consists solely of New Generation Boeing 737's.
In the summer it flies to around 90 destinations and in the winter it flies to about 35 destinations.
As a low-cost airline, and to keep fares low, customers only pay for the basic service. However, transavia.com has many additional options which can be used at the discretion of the customer, through extra payments.
