In the framework of the internal security policy, its fundamental objectives are to control the movement of people across borders, the staying and activities of foreigners within the national territory, and study, promote, coordinate and implement the measures and actions related to those activities and those with migratory movements.
As a Body of Criminal Police, it acts in the process, according to the law of criminal procedure, under the direction and functional dependence of the competent judicial authority, performing certain actions and acts delegated by the given Authority.
