Rivoli . Municipal Theatre
Theatres
After having been renovated, the Teatro Nacional, constructed in 1913, was opened in 1932 as the Rivoli Theatre. Now, it was able to act as a cinema as well as having opera, dance, theatre and concerts.
In 1992, now belonging to the Porto City Council, it was closed for complete refurbishment of its 11,000m2 area, to create a second auditorium, a cafe, a rehearsal room and a foyer for the performers as well as rooms for technical and administrative purposes. It reopened its doors in 1997.
It now has two auditoriums, a café and restaurant located on the 5th floor.
