Bacchus

Created by Teixeira Lopes (senior) in 1916. A pagan allegory, it represents the Roman god of wine (Bacchus), son of Júpiter and Semele.
The monument comprises a high pedestal of granite in the shape of a quadrangular frustum of pyramid, with chamfered corners.
At the top, interwoven grape bunches hang over the corners.
On the pedestal, stands the bronze, smiling image of Bacchus wearing a fruit crown.
