Café Lusitano

Café Lusitano

Bar
Built out of an old mill warehouse, this cosmopolitan space doesn’t seem to have moved on since 1900.
As well as recreating the ambience of a 1950s café it also offers customers a few unexpected surprises.
Mirrors and traditionally-framed paintings decorate the walls in the eating area. At the far end, low tables and oriental poufs offer somewhere to chill out at night time. The small shop at the entrance, beckons you in with its range of Moroccan goods. But the centre of attention must be the wooden counter where, in times gone by, workers would have received and dispatched the merchandise flowing through the mill warehouse which went out of business ten years ago. Today, it is both a bar and staff area for the kitchen, from where tray-carrying waiters appear to serve “customers both young and old”, depending on the time of day.
