The Eng. António de Almeida Foundation was created by will of Eng. António de Almeida, who stipulated the purposes (artistic, educational and charitable), the preservation of the house where he lived with D. Olga Andresen and the organisation of the House-Museum, maintaining, as far as possible, the layout and decoration made up of his collections of furniture, ceramics, paintings, textiles, jewellery, engravings, numismatics and others. Recognised in 1969, the Foundation opened to the public in 1973. Over these 50 years, the Eng. António de Almeida Foundation has developed an intense cultural activity - especially in the areas of literature, art, education and science - by organising meetings, conferences and debates, exhibitions and concerts, both on and off its premises. At the same time, it publishes and supports publications such as books and magazines. The Casa-Museu Eng. António de Almeida offers guided tours to individuals and groups.
