Tramcar Parade
Event
History comes to the streets on May 13, 2023 in another Tramcar Parade of "Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto" (STCP). This year's parade is part of the celebrations of STCP's 150th anniversary. The event takes to the tracks several vehicles belonging to the Tram Museum collection, but also the "American" car, a vehicle pulled by mules or horses, a system that inaugurated the first urban public transport line in Portugal.
The procession starts at 3:30 pm, in Massarelos, near the Tram Museum, and continues to Passeio Alegre. It then continues in the opposite direction, along the same route, to Infante, before returning to Massarelos, where the vehicles resume their usual positioning in the permanent exhibition of the Tram Museum.
On this day of celebration, among lots of entertainment, the Tram Museum will also host workshops for children, a play area with an inflatable and guided tours, and outside it will offer a lounge area with DJ entertainment and street food.
