Luedji Luna
Event
Luedji is a powerhouse, fascinating and elegant, moving and spiritual, as he uses her platform to discuss individual and systemic forms of anti-Blackness.
Considered a Brazilian music sensation, the singer-songwriter is a highlight of the current music scene and mixes the sounds of Bahian and African drumming with elegant and daring jazz.
The artist will present songs from the album “Bom mesmo é estar debaixo d ‘água”, her latest work, released in October 2020. The album features 12 poetic and fluid songs that dialogue with each other and feature multiple black and female voices that speak about affectivity, and also about the impacts of society, sexist and lgbtophobic, in the constitution of the subjectivity of these bodies as the writers Conceição Evaristo and Cidinha da Silva. This album is considered political without being pamphleteering and romantic without being cliché.
In her show, she explores the 2 albums that bring together the rhythms of the sophisticated Brazilian musical plurality and songs sometimes sweet, sometimes with a contesting acidity.
In the last two years, Luedji has consolidated her name in contemporary Brazilian music, having been nominated for the 2021 Latin Grammy and winning important awards such as the Caymmi Award 2019, the Bravo Award 2010 and the Afro Brazilian Award 2020.
Meet Luedji Luna, the new diva of Brazilian music, a singer with a powerful appearance and a delicate voice, full of nostalgia for her Afro-Brazilian roots.
