Born in Porto, Rute Rita is one of the most exciting voices to have emerged in recent years in the fado world. She released her debut album in 2018 and joined the cast of one of the most famous fado houses in the country, the restaurant Casa da Mariquinhas. She currently performs in shows throughout the country and abroad, being a regular guest at typical fado houses in Porto and Lisbon. She brings her unique perspective on traditional fado to Casa da Música, honouring those she learned from — Beatriz da Conceição, Fernanda Maria, Amália Rodrigues, Maria da Fé — perpetuating the legacy they left behind.
