Maestro Donato Renzetti's debut at Casa da Música marks the return of the great violinist Benjamin Schmid to Porto to perform one of the concerts from his award-winning discography. Ermanno Wolf-Ferrari composed mainly operas that were not well received in Italy but captivated the German audience. The instrumental pieces correspond to the beginning and end of his career, strongly marked by the First World War, with the refined humour of his operas being replaced by melancholy. After the interval, a piece that needs no introduction, especially among filmgoers: the music that Nino Rota wrote for the classic La Strada by Fellini, a filmmaker with whom he established a strong artistic relationship.
