Christmas time is celebrated at Casa da Música with programmes full of fantasy and related to the season. The story of the young woman who leaves a lost slipper at a royal ball enchanted Prokofiev. His music for the famous tale Cinderella, by Charles Perrault, will be narrated by Raquel Couto and feature the debut of the young Bulgarian Delyana Lazarova conducting the Orquestra Sinfónica. The Orquestra Barroca and Coro Casa da Música will come together to perform Joseph Haydn's intense and inspiring Missa Cellensis in C major, a major piece in the composer's catalog that explores a wide range of emotions. Christmas is also the time to listen to promising youngsters from the Conservatório de Música do Porto, who are competing for the Casa da Música Prize, and a special programme by the Banda Sinfónica Portuguesa.
