From August 2n, you can learn the stories of several iconic streets of the city, through free tours held every Sunday until September 13th.
The invitation is to, during the summer season, (re)discover various thoroughfares of the city through free guided tours, held on Sunday mornings.
"À descoberta da minha rua" (Discovering my street) is the name of the initiative that seeks, over the next weekends, to invite everyone, alone or with friends and family, to participate in a series of guided tours to some of the most notorious areas in the centre of the Invicta city and get to know the many hidden stories of these thoroughfares.
The first tour will take place on August 2nd, Sunday, under the theme "Do Liberalismo à República: uma viagem no tempo pela Avenida Rodrigues de Freitas" (From Liberalism to the Republic: a journey through time along Avenida Rodrigues de Freitas) and the meeting place is at the Bandstand of Jardim de São Lázaro, the tour ends at Largo de Soares dos Reis, near the entrance to the Prado do Repouso Cemetery.
The walks are a part of a series of activities by the municipality to enliven and promote the temporary pedestrian zones during the summer.
Promoted by the municipal company Ágora, in partnership with the Portoalities blog, the free tours run until September 13th and are aimed at all ages.
Held between 10 am and 12 pm, the tours follow all the guidelines of Direção-Geral da Saúde (Directorate-General for Health) and, therefore, it is compulsory to wear a face mask during the entire tour and a distance of two meters between the participants is advised.
