After Easter, Sociedade de Transportes Colectivos do Porto (STCP) resumes its 100% service on weekdays. Following the guidelines of the Plan for Easing the Lockdown, all bus routes return to “Regular Timetable”, from Monday to Friday. As long as the restrictions on weekends are kept, the service on Saturday and Sunday remains in the “Contingency Timetable”.
STCP, which in March had already resumed 18% of the service on weekdays, says that “this establishment of the maximum service on weekdays comes in response to the gradual increase in passengers seen throughout the month, and that it is expected be intensified with the upcoming measures to be implemented in the next phases of the plan for Easing the Lockdown”.
It is worth mentioning that, starting today, will reopen social and cultural facilities and shops up to 200 m2 with a door to the street, non-food markets and fairs, terraces and low-risk sports activities.
Back to the tracks are the historic trams, with routes 1 (Infante - Passeio Alegre), 18 (Circular Massarelos - Carmo) and 22 (Circular Carmo - Batalha) resuming service. On Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, they stop running after 1 pm, according to the weekend restrictions in place.
STCP also stresses that “all preventive measures” remain in place, such as the 2/3 maximum authorised capacity in each vehicle, mandatory to wear a face mask, safety distancing, and sanitising hands. In addition, it advises that, in the trams, the payment of travel tickets should be made via bankcard.
Once again it is possible to visit the Tram Museum, which implemented a rigorous set of preventive measures, in order to guarantee the total safety of visitors and employees, complying with the guidelines of the competent health authorities.
