Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is among the best in Europe, according to the 2022 ranking by AirHelp, a company that protects air passengers’ rights. It is the national airport infrastructure with the best score (7.67), 54th place worldwide and seventh in the European ranking, led by Barajas airport in Madrid.
The company released the AirHelp Score 2022, an annual ranking that lists the best and worst airports in the world, as well as airlines. Porto airport has an overall score of 7.67 out of a possible 10, highlighting on-time performance, which got a score of 7.10, but also customer opinion, which obtained 8.52, while the quality of the restaurants and shops got 8.53.
According to the company that protects the rights of air passengers, “Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport is in 54th position and is the fifth highest rise compared to 2019, mainly due to the better on-time performance. It can also be considered one of the best European airports, being in the top 10 of European airports”.
The ranking prepared by AirHelp points out to Tokyo Haneda International Airport as the best in the world, while Qatar Airways was considered the best airline.
It should be recalled that Porto airport had already been honoured this year with several awards: "Best European Airport 2022" in its category, of 10-25 million passengers, by the Airport Council International (ACI), at the ASQ Awards of Airports Council International, twice as one of the best, from 5 to 15 million passengers per year, regarding customer experience and hygiene measures, and in the "top 5" of the highest ranked in Europe according to the German holiday rental search engine, Holidu, based on a mass extraction of ratings and reviews from Google Maps.
