New record in Porto Marathon

The most participated ever edition of the Porto Marathon brought together almost 16 thousand participants from 75 countries at the start and finished with a new race record. The feat belonged to the young Ugandan, Robert Chemonges, who completed the 42,195 km of the course in 2:09:05, beating by 46 seconds the previous record that had lasted since 2011.

Despite the rain that fell steadily throughout almost all the race, the 15th edition of Porto Marathon ended in celebration and set a new race record.

In addition to the 42,195 kilometers of the main race event, the event also featured a 15-kilometer race (the Family Race) and a six-kilometer walk, intended for all age groups and non-competitive.
