Ryanair announces six new routes

​The airline Ryanair announced that it will expand its operation at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport, as of summer of 2019. In total, there will be six new air routes to these destinations: Seville, Alicante, Brive, Cagliari, Marrakesh and Venice (Treviso).

The strategy of expanding the Irish airline in our country is expected to continue. In a press conference, the company's CEO, Michael O'Leary, announced that in 2019 the company plans to invest in Portugal around 100 million euros, corresponding to 12 new routes (six of them in Porto, three in Lisbon and three in Faro).

According to the CEO, quoted by the news agency Lusa, it is an "important investment as these are difficult times for airlines".

In Porto, city that received the first flights of the low-cost company in national territory, and where Ryanair clearly continues to invest (in 12 routes announced, half of the flights will have as point of departure and arrival at Francisco Sá Carneiro Airport), the connection to Seville will have three flights per week.

As for the other new destinations - Alicante, Brive, Cagliari, Marrakech and Venice (Treviso) - will have two weekly flights.

In total, there are 57 routes operated by Ryanair from Porto. It should also be noted that the number of flights will increase to: Brussels, Dublin, London (Stansted), Luxembourg, Malta and Marseille.
