It is no secret that Porto is not an expensive city. Still, like every city, it also has luxury experiences to offer. And no, you do not have to stop reading this and turn the page, because you do not have to be a millionaire to enjoy them!

A great way to get around the city and go to several places without emptying your wallet is to buy Porto.CARD. In places such as the Serralves Museum, one of the most important museums of contemporary art in the country, you benefit a 25% discount, but if you are lucky enough to be in Porto on the first Sunday of every month, the admission is free, between 10am and 1pm.

This option is also valid for the Soares dos Reis National Museum which, founded in 1833, was the first public art museum in Portugal.

After your visits, take this chance to get lost in the magnificent gardens that these museums have to offer.

When speaking about luxury, one also has to speak about Palácio da Bolsa. Built in 1842, it is one of the most visited monuments in the city and the opulence of this space is able to make everyone open-mouthed! The ticket gives you entry into an exclusive and stunning space, for very little money!

Take the opportunity to immerse yourself in the exuberance of Livraria Lello. Lonely Planet described it as a "art nouveau gem", highlighting its "neo-Gothic shelves" and the "lolloping red staircase" and was considered by The Guardian as the third most beautiful bookshop in the world! A visit to the bookshop is quite affordable and the entry fee can be discounted when buying a book.

A bridge cruise is another great pleasure within reach of everyone’s pocket. Take the opportunity to learn the history of each bridge and admire the surrounding landscape. There are several tour operators offering this cruise and some even include a tour to the Port wine lodges at the end.

If you pass by Praça de D. João I, you must go to the magnificent Teatro Municipal Rivoli to watch one of the shows/plays. There is a wide range of prices to suit every budget and we can guarantee that you will still have small change to spare to take some souvenirs to your family and friends!

Go up Rua de Passos Manuel and get a snack in one of the many small taverns in Praça dos Poveiros. There is a wide choice to suit everyone’s taste, from roasted pork sandwiches, to the traditional Francesinhas, original or vegetarian versions, and ending with Papas de Sarrabulho.

And how about enjoying a five-star hotel for the price of a three-star? Order a cocktail at The Yeatman's Dick's Bar and end your day overlooking the Douro River with a privileged view of Porto.

And do not forget: just like in the Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, you can also enjoy Porto.CARD discounts at the Soares dos Reis National Museum, Palácio da Bolsa, several bridge cruises, the Teatro Municipal Rivoli and the many restaurants across the city.

Always make sure you purchase this card at one of the Official Porto Tourist Offices or at an official point of sale. There are many privately owned tourist points of sale all over the city that can easily be mistaken for the official ones

All the refinement of Porto, within reach of everyone’s pocket!
