From December 10th to January 2nd, the venue in downtown Porto will host one of the greatest traditions of this festive season. The Circo de Natal (Christmas Circus) promises another edition full of animation, a lot of magic and fun for the whole family.

In the year that Coliseu Porto Ageas celebrates its 80th anniversary, the Circo de Natal (which has the same age) promises to be even more special, having an even bolder concept.

After last year, having welcomed a strange being (with pink hair) who guided spectators through the performances that filled the space, this year the audience will be invited to travel through a galaxy full of planets (more or less unknown) and enjoying different sensations.

With the circular shape as its dominant mark (so common to the planets), your head will be spinning (in a good way) with aerial acts (acrobatics with a hoop and crystal ball, flying above the heads of the audience), on the ring (German wheel, juggling, clown), on stage (extreme globe, an act with motorbikes), and in unexpected places in the room (funambulism, big illusions), which will leave all spectators speechless.

Live music

This year, the original music by Rui Lima and Sérgio Martins will be played live by an ensemble directed by Suse Ribeiro, in a genre sci-fi funk-electronic-pop-rock that will take the audience to futuristic and intergalactic environments.

In addition to all this, a chromatic palette to be present in the videos was developed by the ESMAD-IPP, which accompany the performances presented, as well as the costumes designed by Cláudia Ribeiro drawing inspiration of beings on imagined planets, featuring Escola Artística Soares dos Reis.

From December 10th onwards, the audience is therefore invited to take a space trip, on the biggest (indoor) circus ring in Europe.

Until January 2nd, there are daily sessions (except Mondays and Tuesdays) at various hours. Ticket prices range from 8 to 18 euros.
