Porto is getting ready to host once again, on 21 May, the “Porto Special Stage” the Super Special included in the 55th edition of Rally de Portugal. The route will be the same as in the previous editions but will have a novelty: the presence of the public.

“This kind of event is of enormous interest to the city, not only from a sporting point of view and in what concerns the fans of the sport, but also in the promotion of Porto as a tourist destination of excellence”, stressed Mayor Rui Moreira, also noting the presence of the public, “which will surely be a very special moment”.

Rally de Portugal will take place from 19 to 22 May. In sporting terms, it will have a record-breaking entourage, with 100 teams registered, highlighting the presence of three world champions - Sébastien Ogier, defending champion, Sébastien Loeb and Ott Tanäk, winner in 2019.

The previous winners of the race will also be in Portugal, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the World Rally Championship (WRC). Some of them are the Finns Marku Alén (record winner in Portugal, with five wins) and Marcus Grönholm, the Spaniard Carlos Sainz, the Italian Miki Biasion, the German Walter Rohl, the Finnish Ari Vatanen, among others.

For the lovers of the sport, this will also be an opportunity to see some of the cars that marked world championships, such as the Fiat 131 Abarth, the Alpine- Renault A110, the Lancia Rally 037, the Lancia Delta S4, the Lancia Delta Integrale, the Opel Ascona 400, and the Audi Quattro, in permanent exhibition at Exponor (Matosinhos), with free access.

The 55th edition of Rally de Portugal has a total length of 1,535.35 kilometres, 343.3 of which are against the clock, in a total of 22 qualifying stages.

Tickets can be purchased online and prices start at 25€.
