The Irish airline recently announced the return to the operation of the Porto-London flight for May 22nd. There will be a daily route and all restrictions, such as very low passenger occupancy, will be complied with, considering that this resumption is still taking place in a context of minimal air connections for emergency reasons.

According to Ryanair in a statement, more than 99% of its aircraft are and will continue to be grounded in the coming weeks, as most EU countries have imposed flight bans or other restrictions.

However, and ensuring compliance with the restrictions, the low-cost operator has resumed some routes in order to keep some minimum air links open for emergency reasons, even if passenger occupancy on these flights is very low.

This work, done in close coordination with EU countries, includes the reactivation of a daily Porto-London flight from next week (Friday 22nd).

In the communiqué, a Ryanair source points out that the connections maintained or created are considered "vital" and intend to resolve emergency situations that may require urgent travel for passengers and their families over the next few days and weeks.

All aircraft are disinfected daily and the airline asks that passengers "cooperate fully with our crews, who are doing their best in difficult times".

Ryanair adds that it currently expects regular flights to return in July. "We support the measures taken by EU governments to combat the virus, and hope that a coordinated plan will be implemented to lift travel restrictions as soon as Europe is ready to fly again and the Covid-19 situation is under control, which we hope will be as soon as possible," it concludes.
