After last year's cancellation, the ninth edition of the Porto City Race is back on 28, 29 and 30 May, inaugurating the national urban pedestrian orienteering circuit and three new maps in the city. Entries are already open.

The race, organised by Grupo Desportivo dos Quatro Caminhos in partnership with Porto City Hall, returns in May with three more courses, inviting participants to go through new spaces and corners of the city. The event will once again consist of three stages on different days, with separate classifications.

The competitive programme opens with Porto City Race by Night, a night stage to be held from 8:30 p.m. on 28 May, starting and ending at Campus Tecnológico de Ramalde and running through the parishes of Ramalde and Aldoar, including several social neighbourhoods.

On the morning of the following day, 29 May, the event continues with the usual sprint race. This time it will be in the City Park, with concentration near the Water Pavilion, and will inaugurate a new field work. This second stage will also mark the inclusive side of Porto City Race, by including an adapted orienteering event punctuating for the Portuguese Cup of the discipline.

Finally, on May 30, will be disputed the main event of the competition, also in a new map of Porto, drawn in the parishes of Bonfim and Campanhã, with start and finish at the headquarters of Águas do Porto, on Rua do Barão de Nova Sintra. This journey, punctuating for the national circuit, Portugal City Race, is called Planet Water and will pass through several parks, gardens, schools and social districts of the eastern part of the city.

The event is once again open to people of any age, who can take part in the open classes or in the competition categories. In the competitive categories, you can only run the courses individually, while in the training and open classes you can also run them in groups.

For those who have never used an orienteering map or a compass, the organisation offers monitors to accompany and teach them.

Entries can be made on the Porto City Race website
