The lineup for the 9th Edition of NOS Primavera Sound 2020 was announced. Tyler, The Creator, Lana Del Rey, Beck, Bad Bunny, Pavement, FKA Twigs, Cigarrettes After Sex and King Krule headline the extensive list of bands and solo artists who will perform at the festival, which is returning to City Park do Porto from 11 to 13 June.

The programme brings together names from different generations and combines more musical styles than ever before. There are 63 artists from more than 20 nationalities who will perform in the unique setting of Parque da Cidade, and a festival that is distinguished by environmental initiatives, which please the audiences, which are also quite heterogeneous.

To the headliners already listed are added timeless names of music such as Kim Gordon, Dinosaur Jr or new legends in training as the reborn Chromatics, Cigarettes After Sex or DIIV. And as in addition to the reflection of the present and a look at the past, NOS Primavera Sound is always a good oracle that predicts the future, so it will be likely to find the next favourite band in this festival whether with the Khruangbin funk, the Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever’s guitars or among the options of the new challenging pop by Caroline Polachek, Mura Masa, Pabllo Vittar, Weyes Blood and Maggie Rogers.

The new urban sounds will also come to Porto represented by the leaders of each genre, from Tyler, The Creator and Bad Bunny to Earl Sweatshirt, Little Simz, Sampa The Great and DJ Playero.

The festival will include dancing, as there will be an area dedicated to this universe of bits, lights and celestial rhythms. From the British DJ Josey Rebelle to the South Korean Park Hye Jin without forgetting local heroes such as DJ Firmeza, MVRIA and Arrogance it will be possible to dance every day at NOS Primavera Sound 2020 which, of course, never forgets Portugal’s important artists which this year is represented by Montanhas Azuis, Throes + The Shine, Holy Nothing and also the new phenomena Chico da Tina and David Bruno.

In the same year that the coveted Primavera Sound brand celebrates its 20 anniversary in Barcelona and arrives in Los Angeles for the first time, the Porto edition continues to attract audiences of the most diverse nationalities, including New Zealand festival-goers, which has already happened.

The Municipality of Porto, as usual, has worked with the organisation of the event, so that, in each edition, innovative measures are applied that mitigate the festival's footprint. "Everything we do is organised together with those who work at Parque da Cidade all year-round," says José Barreiro, executive director of NOS Primavera Sound.

Passes for NOS Primavera Sound 2020 can be purchased at DICE, bol.pt and usual places (FNAC, CTT, El Corte Inglés).
