The Porto de Tradição municipal programme, which recognises and protects commercial establishments and entities of local historical, cultural or social interest, awarded yet another recognition.

The most recent entry on the list of commercial establishments and entities recognised by Porto de Tradição is the grocer’s A Cafezeira, after the approval of the proposal signed by the councillor for Economy, Employment and Entrepreneurship, Ricardo Valente, at the private meeting of the Executive on Friday.

Following the application of the grocer’s and having verified that A Cafezeira met the necessary conditions, the municipal Executive unanimously approved the inclusion of the establishment in the protected group.

Located on Rua de Costa Cabral, A Cafezeira “is an establishment of many years, initially focused on coffee and spices, having introduced new products tailored to the demands and needs of its customers”.

“Coffee is still the protagonist, from several origins, batches of pure coffee, coffee blends with barley, just to mention a few, freshly ground according to the customer’s machine, assorted teas, seeds, dried fruits – honey figs, from the Douro region, Turkish figs, dried pear, walnut with and without shell, hazelnut, grape, currant, plum with and without stone, dates, apricot, pine nuts – dehydrated fruits and spices. They also sell individually and with environmental concerns, which means that the customers can bring their own containers”, can be read on the page dedicated to the grocers on the Shop in Porto website
