St James Anglican Church
Religious temples
Built between 1815 and 1818, it was dedicated to St. James in 1843. The shape of the building has been changed over the years, evolving from a simple rectangular shape into a structure shaped as a crucifix. The church is home to an international English speaking Christian community in the Anglican Tradition. The cemetery is the resting place of many significant people in the Port trade. Baron Forrester is also commemorated here and his wife and children are buried here. Come and explore St James, see its magnificent stained glass, including the St James window, absorb its prayerful atmosphere, light a candle and enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this holy and historical place.
