DDD - Festival Dias da Dança
Event
Held at the end of April each year since 2016, the DDD - Festival Dias da Dança is an international contemporary dance festival, organized by the Department of Performing Arts of Ágora - Cultura e Desporto do Porto, E.M., S.A., in collaboration with the Municipalities of Gaia and Matosinhos.
The DDD programme – performances, workshops, open classes, talks, parties and much more – attests to the aesthetic and thematic diversity of contemporary dance, opening to an idea of expanded choreography and believing that artistic vision is of great contribution to today's society.
DDD promotes wandering between different presentation venues and public spaces in a sense of community and celebration.
The festival has established itself as a solid international coproducer and as a place to get to know the work of local artists, working within a sustainable logic and partnering up for tours and copresentations.
After the initial artistic direction of Tiago Guedes, from 2024 DDD – Festival Dias da Dança will proceed under the artistic co-direction of Cristina Planas Leitão and Drew Klein.
