KISMIF 2021
Event
KISMIF Conference and Summer School provides a unique forum in which participants debate and share information regarding underground cultures and DIY (Do-it-Yourself) practices. It focuses on cultural practices that are used to tackle more large-scale and standardised forms of cultural mediation, production, and creation, highlighting the “making crafts” of everyday life. It is currently the only congress in the world that analyses the theory and practice of underground scenes and DIY cultures as increasingly significant cultural and artistic forms of standing up against global social changes. KISMIF has an interdisciplinary approach, hence the 2021 edition programme, under the motto DIY Cultures and Global Challenges. It comprises concerts, documentaries, exhibitions and conferences as well as book releases, whose goal is to debate not only music, but other artistic fields, such as cinema and video, graffiti and street art, theatre and the performing arts, literature and poetry, radio, programming and editing, graphic design, illustration, architecture, or even cartoons and comics.
