Ornette, What is This?
Event
Without Ornette Coleman’s music, jazz would have been a very different story. From the moment he released his revolutionary albums The Shape of Jazz to Come and Free Jazz in 1959 and 60, a new world of possibilities opened up. The extraordinary melodic and rhythmic imagination of this saxophonist required the freedom to explore other paths, and the truth is that his musicality assumes all the blackness that jazz carries in its roots. Orquestra Jazz de Matosinhos meets the music of this great jazz master in a set of new arrangements to highlight the intense musical expression of the soloists. Featuring as guests, two exceptional saxophonists.
