In the 5th episode of the show Passo a Passo - Encontros com História, our guest is Luis Carlos Amaral who comes to talk to us about the Christus Collection, from the point of view of its religiosity.
In this show, Luis Carlos Amaral, focuses on his presentation on the Christus collection at Museu da Irmandade dos Clérigos, a magnificent collection that conveys the dialogue between Faith and Art, around the biggest theme of Christianity, which is the figure of Jesus Christ.
Luis Carlos Amaral, graduated in History from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto, a school where he obtained a Master's degree in Medieval History and a Doctorate in History. He has been a professor in the Department of History of that Faculty since 1984. He has taught mainly subjects in the field of Portugal’s Medieval History, General History of the Middle Ages and History of the Church in Portugal. With regard to research topics, he has privileged studies on settlement and social organisation of the territory (10th-13th centuries), as well as on Portuguese medieval ecclesiastical institutions. On these matters, he has delivered more than 40 conferences and seminars, in the country and in Spain, Italy, Hungary and Lebanon. He has more than forty published works (books and articles).
