Qui a tué mon père

Event
Stanislas Nordey performs and stages Qui a tué mon père, a new text commissioned to the novelist Édouard Louis, who makes theatre the place where the "literature of confrontation" is best expressed. In this story of masculinity and violence, a son tells his father's biography, from turbulent childhood memories to his “social death”. At the centre of this sharp political gaze is that singular moment in which we overcome the difficult affirmation of identity within the traditional family and become aware of the violence that society exercises over it, usurping bodies and whole lives for its benefit. Or how we discover, behind the paternal authority, another authority that surpasses and overwhelms it. On how we can glimpse, among the gaps in gender politics, the dirt on all other forms of social and cultural domination. Stanislas Nordey, director of Théâtre National de Strasbourg, is one of the most important contemporary creators of the French scene, a stage director who believes in the theatre’s citizen urgency.
