Ensemble Allettamento
Event
The Ensemble Allettamento debuts at Casa da Música with a programme that covers the evolution of the repertoire for violin and cello throughout the 17th and 18th centuries. Entirely dedicated to Italian composers, the recital includes works that demonstrate the different discourses and dynamics that emerged between the two instruments in the Baroque period. Formed by Mario Braña and Elsa Pidre, the name of this project derives from the Allettamenti da camera by Valentini and Tessarini, which are among the first works written specifically for this formation. The connection with the audience is one of the objectives of the ensemble, which is thus marked by the search for “allettare” — to please, seduce and move the listener's affections. The Ensemble Allettamento was awarded at the Gijón International Early Music Competition and has been receiving critical and audience acclaim.
