As Novas viagens philosophicas - Solidariedade aparente no Kalahari
Event
This Summer and Autumn, the courtyard of the Central hub of MHNC-UP will serve as the stage for the most exciting stories about the research carried out in terms of nature conservation and biodiversity by CIBIO-InBIO researchers.
Every Saturday of July, September and October, at 9:30 pm, As Novas viagens philosophicas fill the MHNC-UP with life, in sessions commented by the protagonists of the adventures portrayed in this documentary series, and mediated by the Curators of MHNC_UP.
Sociable weavers live in large communities and build huge nests in the trees of South Kalahari, South Africa. The research on co-operative reproduction in birds analyses the behaviour of sociable weavers, seeking in particular to understand the role of helpers during the breeding season. In this session we will present the work of the biologist Rita Covas, a researcher at CIBIO-InBIO. Meet modern explorers, their research work and their stories. Moderated by Ricardo Jorge Lopes, bird curator at MHNC-UP.
