These days, the Theatre is physically closed to us, but it is precisely during this time that we intend to celebrate it with you. Next Friday, March 27th, World Theatre Day is celebrated and Teatro Nacional São João wants to experience it with a programme all throughout the week. On this festive day, we return virtually to Teatro Nacional São João for a guided tour by those who know and love this National Monument - as suggested by Visita, by director Luís Porto; in the evening, we will show Castro, an essential tragedy in Portuguese theatre staged by Nuno Cardoso. The day before, our almost in-house cast gives voice to the very peculiar Coro of this piece by António Ferreira. Our viewers will be able to follow these activities through an online broadcast, here, and on our Facebook and Instagram pages. And, that's not all. Throughout the week, we will also make available the irreverent folly of the four plays that comprise the Ubu trilogy by Alfred Jarry, in free eBooks downloads, as well as the complete collection of our Reading Manuals. Day by day, on the website and on social media, we will continue to recall a past performance of Teatro Nacional São João, putting those who follow us speaking about Theatre.
