The comedy directed by and starring Diogo Infante “O Amor é Tão Simples”, arrives in Porto for 4 unique performances at Coliseu Porto Ageas.
In the original “Present Laughter”, this comedy, written in 1939, celebrates the legendary free spirit of playwright Noël Coward. Widely regarded as the author's most autobiographical play, it premiered in 1942, performed by the author himself. Peter O’Toole, Douglas Fairbanks Jr., Frank Langella and more recently, Andrew Scott, in England, and Kevin Kline, in the USA, are some of the actors who have played the famous Garry Essendine.
Guilherme de Andrade is a famous actor with a vast legion of fans, who, attracted by his charm and charisma, turn his home into true chaos. In the week before he leaves on tour to Africa, he is forced to deal with his devoted entourage: his secretary, his ex-wife, a passionate and ambitious young actress, an unhinged aspiring playwright, his best friend's wife who is determined to seduce him, his agent, his producer, the butler and the housekeeper.
Simultaneously, Guilherme feels tormented by a midlife crisis, which insists on manifesting itself whenever he looks in the mirror.
