After a virtual edition, which lasted for a week, the oldest Portuguese 10km race returns to the road on December 8th for its 64th edition. There is also the usual 4km walk for the whole family. Registration is open, with promotional prices until November 30th.

 

It's time to start training, take your sports clothes out of the wardrobe and start endurance exercises to face the oldest Portuguese road race: Volta a Paranhos, an annual tradition that has been going on for 63 years and is now in its 64th edition.

 

Volta a Paranhos returns to the road on December 8th, bank holiday, for the competitive race with the usual 10km and for a 4km walk, ideal for the whole family.

 

The race will start at 10:45 am, with the start line at Rua Alfredo Allen/next to the Faculty of Psychology (FPCEUP) and finish line at Rua Alfredo Allen/next to the Faculty of Psychology. The race is expected to last two hours.

 


Registration period

 

Registrations are open until December 5th, but there is a promotional price of 10 euros (race) and 4 euros (walk) is in effect until November 30th. Entries must be made only online on the website and payment is made through an entity/reference number system and ATM payment.

 

Athletes of both genders, members of sports association and common people can participate, as long as they are physically fit. All athletes who do not make the control start line, who do not complete the course in its entirety and do not have their race number on their chest and clearly visible during the race will be excluded. Athletes and amateurs who falsify any element relating to their registration, who run on the pavements (when not authorised by the organiser), are helped by third parties and use any means of transport will also be disqualified.
