Turkish Airlines will resume the Istanbul-Porto route on March 29th, with four weekly flights. The route had been suspended since the pandemic began.


The information was provided by Nuno Figueiredo, regional marketing representative of Turkish Airlines in Portugal, who states “with great pleasure” the news.


In this first phase, it takes off four times a week, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.


“It has always been said that Porto was an important destination for the Portuguese market and was one of the main destinations for 2021”, said Francisco Paixão, also a regional representative of the Turkish flag carrier airline in Portugal, cited by Publituris.


The operation will be subject to constant review and may undergo adjustments, according to the evolution of the pandemic.


Turkish Airlines currently operates 7% of flights to the American continent, 43% of flights to Europe, 13% to the Middle East, 15% to Asia, and 22% to Africa from Turkey.
