TAAG - Angolan Airlines will resume its link to Porto, starting June 30, with a new itinerary. The announcement was made by the director of Sales and Distribution of the Angolan airline. "We will resume the connection to Porto, with a connection to Madrid, in Spain. It will no longer be a direct flight and will now be Luanda-Madrid-Porto-Luanda," António Mutondo said in an interview with Angolan news agency (ANGOP).

From 30 June, there will be two flights per week to Porto, with a stopover in Madrid on Thursdays and Sundays. "The Luanda-Madrid section will be operated by TAAG and the Madrid-Porto section will be operated by Iberia, in light of the protocol signed with TAAG," the Angolan national airline confirmed in a statement Monday.

António Mutondo said that the increase of flights in the airline's IATA summer schedule "is part of the operational strategy of the trade balance recovery programme, technically paralysed since 2020 due to the pandemic.

With the reinforcement of flights, reopenings and creation of new routes, TAAG hopes to have its entire fleet in service again this year, which should happen as early as the beginning of the second half of the year. It currently offers 14 domestic and 10 international destinations.
