Spring in an Itinerary
Spring has already arrived, and with it the desire to stroll and enjoy the first days of good weather. Set off to discover with Porto.CARD and enjoy incredible discounts and benefits at more than 150 attractions. We suggest the purchase of Porto.CARD - 2 days (48h), which costs 10€.
Along this route you will enjoy great prices with the Porto.CARD discount, and you can save up to 23,53€ per adult on monuments and tourist attractions (the savings price does not include Porto Exit Games, shows and restaurants). Check the table at the end and see how much you can save on each of the attractions.
Start your day in one of the oldest and most typical places in the city: Ribeira. The narrow streets, the colourful houses, the fascinating flavours of the restaurants and the Rabelo boats are part of this iconic landscape. If you decide to take your vehicle to the Historic Centre, Porto.CARD gives you must-have discounts (up to 48% off) on 24-hour tickets in 5 car parks.
In Ribeira, visit Casa do Infante (free), where the navigator Infante D. Henrique was born. Here, in one of the oldest buildings in the city, you can discover more about the history of Invicta through an interactive model.
Then, enjoy the good weather and embark on a cruise along the 6 bridges (50 min - 14,40€), at Ribeira’s pier. Sail along the banks of Porto and Vila Nova de Gaia, in a typical Rabelo boat and discover the beauty of the Douro River.
After the tour, nothing better than delighting yourself with the flavours of Porto’s cuisine in one of the several Porto.CARD partner restaurants. We leave you with some suggested restaurants, located in this area of the city:
- Chez Lapin - Portuguese cuisine (10% paying in cash / 5% by card)
- Prégar - Portuguese and European cuisine (10% discount)
- Vinhas D'Alho - European and Mediterranean cuisine (10% discount)
After lunch, cross the lower deck of the Luiz I Bridge on foot and embark on a cable car trip (6,30€). We assure you that the view will be stunning, both during the trip and when you reach the end, at garden of Morro.
Pay a visit to the Santo Inácio Zoo (13,88€) and get in touch with nature and wildlife. Be sure to see the many attractions that the Zoo has available, such as the African Savannah and the Asiatic Lion Tunnel. Ideal for an outing with the children! If you came by car, the journey is very short, but you can also choose travelling by public transport.
At the end of the day, return to the city and reminisce this incredible day, at the table of one of the several Porto.CARD’s partner restaurants.
Start the second day in the best way possible, with a guided tour by Tuk Tuk (15,30€), and discover the lesser-known alleys and nooks of the city centre. End the tour with a magnificent view from the Serra do Pilar viewpoint.
At this point we believe that you already know a little more about the Invicta city. Test your skills, or take with you a different memory of this trip, through one of the escape room games that Porto Exit Games (10% discount - minimum 2 people) has for you. We are sure that it will be a moment of pure fun.
Before lunch there is still time for another activity. Discover one of the best kept treasures in the city with the Tour of Ordem do Carmo (2.10€). The route will give you the chance to visit the iconic Carmo Church, the narrowest house in the city, Casa Escondida, and the catacombs that contain unique silverware.
After the visit, take the opportunity to recharge your batteries in one of the typical restaurants, which we recommend:
- Costume Bistrô - international, Mediterranean and European cuisine (15% discount)
- O Caçula - Mediterranean, Portuguese and European cuisine (10% discount)
- O Escondidinho - Portuguese cuisine; suitable for vegetarians (10% discount)
Spring is the perfect time to smell the fragrant and fresh aroma of the city's gardens. At this time of year, the fauna and flora are transformed, allowing to capture unforgettable colours and moments. Take a break at the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal, 8 hectares of pure nature in the City Centre, where you can contemplate a magnificent panoramic view over the river and the city.
Continue to Rua do Campo Alegre and visit the Galeria da Biodiversidade - Centro Ciência Viva (2.50€), a space where art meets biology and natural history, through sensory experiences designed to celebrate the diversity of life. Be sure to visit the Botanical Garden, which is in the gallery's surrounding space.
Go down towards the river and visit the Tram Museum (4€), where you will find an important collection of trams that ran on the city's tracks and left a mark in its history. After visiting the museum, enjoy the good weather and get to know the feeling of traveling in our traditional mode of transport. Route 1 runs along the Douro River to Foz, the area of Porto's beaches.
For a great end of the day, there is nothing like getting to know one of the city's iconic cultural and artistic spaces, Rivoli . Municipal Theatre (50% discount). Watch one of the many theatrical and dance shows that the theatre has available daily.
