Second place is good, but is also the most frustrating, the city of Sheffield is facing it with a lot of "fair play" and even taking advantage of the fact that it was behind Porto, which was voted the European City of the Year at the 2020 Urbanism Awards, beating the two most direct contestants - Sheffield and the Dutch Utrecht - in the batch of 15 finalists.
At the event, which took place at the end of November in London, the city of Sheffield saw victory slip away, but is using this "defeat" to also show its dynamics and attractiveness, affirming its vanity for having lost to a city like Porto.
"It probably won't surprise you that Porto won European City of the Year 2020. It probably will surprise you that Sheffield was one of the other two finalists" is the motto of its promotion that the English city will do in this year’s MIPIM. It is a major international event in the real estate sector in which Porto also participated last year for the first time with its own stand and with great success.
Incidentally, Rui Moreira immediately guaranteed that the bet would be to continue, so it will be attending again, from March 10 to 13, in Cannes, France, to show the assets of Porto and attract investment.
