Blur, Kendrick Lamar, Rosalía, Pet Shop Boys. Here are some of the biggest names that make up what will be “the best line-up in history” for Primavera Sound. Considered by many to be the best in the country, the festival once again fills the City Park with music and entertainment, this time with an extra day of concerts. Tickets for the tenth edition, which takes place from June 7 to 10, are now on sale.

More than 100,000 people, from 33 countries, went to Primavera Sound in 2022 and, for 2023, no less is expected. Around 80 artists will take to the various stages in the City Park. In addition to the most famous artists, there are other sounds that promise to “create the brightest reflection of the musical spectrum”.

The organiser warns that “the stimuli can come from all corners of the line-up”. In Porto it will be possible to hear “the exciting experimental of FKA Twigs, the pop particularities of Halsey, the post-hardcore stampede of The Mars Volta, the unique magnetism of St. Vincent, the comeback of Le Tigre and the cosmic journeys of My Morning Jacket”.

In the 2023 edition, Primavera Sound ranges from underground reggaeton to supersonic jazz, including hardcore, expansive rap, new avant-garde and independent songs. Which is to say that Isabella Lovestory, The Comet Is Coming, Bad Religion, Baby Keem, Julia Holter, Núria Graham are already confirmed.

As well as “the recently reunited Karate, the digital boyband Drain Gang, Yves Tumor in full glam metamorphosis, the extra-terrestrial Sparks and alliances as exceptional as that of Nicolas Jaar and Dave Harrington in Darkside and that of Anderson .Paak and Knxwledge in NxWorries”. Even Shellac, the band that doesn’t perform at festivals will be back at Primavera Sound.

Ten editions and several musical dimensions

Four days of music don't end here: “the albums that were the main protagonists of 2022” are also part of the festival's line-up. In June, you can listen live to “the return of Alvvays”, the “confirmation of Fred again.. as the electronic producer of the moment”, “Pusha T in a total state of grace, the extravagant Jockstrap, The Beths and their sounds from the Antipodes, Caribou under his alias Daphni, Yard Act representing the last post-punk wave, and the Irish Gilla Band”.

In its tenth edition, the festival takes on all possible dimensions of pop and brings to Porto: Maggie Rogers, Bleachers, Japanese Breakfast, Arlo Parks, Holly Humberstone, Georgia, Self Esteem and flowerovlove, as well as the Dominican artist Tokischa, the Nigerian singer Rema and Mora from Puerto Rico.

Keeping the strong “ambition of condensing several festivals into one”, Primavera Sound does not forget the City Park’s dance floor. Because “a tenth edition is only danced once in a lifetime”, the bodies follow the rhythm of techno, house, acid, breakbeat, electro, or jungle with Nick León, UNIIQU3, Teki Latex, Jayda G, Verraco, Gazzi, Chima Hiro and the b2b offered by VTSS and LSDXOXO in the booth.

Being “the best festival in the country”, there is also a strong commitment to music in Portuguese, starting with the hit created by Bruno Nogueira and Manuela Azevedo, “Deixem o Pimba em Paz”. The serene R&B universe of Fumo Ninja and the jazzy voices of Margarida Campelo and Beatriz Pessoa are also already signed up for the 2023 edition of the festival, as is the accent from the other side of the Atlantic of the indie band Terno Rei.

Tickets - daily, general passes or VIP general passes - are already on sale at the usual points of sale and the line-up can be checked on the festival's website.
