From this Tuesday until next Saturday, Portugal Fashion returns to Porto to present the best that Portuguese fashion has to offer. Alfândega do Porto’s building is once again the epicentre of the event, which includes more than 30 fashion shows by the main Portuguese brands and designers, presented in physical format but it will also be livestreamed.

After a last fully digital edition, called “The Sofa Edition”, Portugal Fashion is back to physical format, returning to Porto from 12 to 16 October, with in-person fashion shows and the presence of the public, albeit with some restrictions, since a digital vaccination certificate will be required at the entrance or, alternatively, a negative Covid-19 test. It will also be possible to follow the fashion shows on live broadcast, through the livestream that will be made available on the event's official website.

For five days, Portuguese fashion will be in the spotlight at the building of Alfândega do Porto, with an intense programme that will include more than 30 fashion shows and presentations by renowned names and young designers, conferences, round tables and the traditional Brand Up, the showroom of the Portugal Fashion, which also returns in this edition.

The first day of the 49th edition of Portugal Fashion is today, October 12th, with talks and round tables about fashion in Portugal and Africa. African designers joining Portugal Fashion is, in fact, one of the great novelties of this edition, the result of a partnership with Creative Africa Nexus (CANEX), a programme of the African Export-Import Bank, which aims to facilitate investment in the African creative and cultural economy. Around 20 designers, from different countries in Africa, will have the opportunity here to showcase their work to the Portuguese business fabric, in a partnership that will last for three years and will be formalised at a conference to be held at 8 pm this Tuesday.

On Wednesday, October 13th, Bloom Upload, Portugal Fashion's platform that supports young Portuguese designers, will present the fashion shows by Huarte, Rita Ibs and Ahcor, starting at 7 pm. Also on this day, the winners of the Bloom PWD By Sonae contest will be announced and the winners of the Eco Design contest will be revealed.

The headliners on Thursday, October 14th, are the duo Marques’Almeida (8 pm) and designer Katty Xiomara (6:30 pm). The day will also be filled with fashion shows by Ernest W. Baker (5:30 pm), Unflower (4:30 pm), Inês Torcato (1:30 pm) and Nuno Miguel Ramos (2:30 pm), among others.

Diogo Miranda opens on Friday, October 15th, with his fashion show scheduled for 10:30 am, in the yard of Casa do Roseiral. At 12 pm, it's Miguel Vieira's turn to present his collection, also at the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal. In the afternoon, and back to the building of Alfândega do Porto, there will be the fashion shows of Susana Bettencourt (2:30 pm), Estelita Mendonça (3:30 pm), Sophia Kah (4:30 pm), Maison D'Afie pwd by Canex (5:30 pm) and David Catalán (6:30 pm). The penultimate day of Portugal Fashion ends with the fashion show of the Pé de Chumbo brand (7:30 pm) and Rich Mnisi pwd by Canex (10 pm).

The duo Alves/Gonçalves closes Portugal Fashion (10 pm) on Saturday, October 16th, but the last day also includes the fashion shows of Maria Gambina (11 am), Katty Xiomara Presentation (12 pm), Hugo Costa (18:30), Alexandra Mora (7:30 pm), Carolina Sobral (3 pm), (Re)Veste (2 pm) and DaviII (5:30 pm). On the last day of the fashion event, the collections of several Portuguese footwear brands will also be unveiled, namely Nobrand, Fly London, Ambitious and Rufel, among others.
