S. João National Theatre

São João National Theatre was built in 1910 on top of the ruins of the Real Teatro, which suffered a major fire in 1908. The renovated theatre is a classic building, inspired in the French style of King Louis XVI with allegorical ornaments depicting pain, kindness, hatred, and love.


Here you will be able to enjoy various theatre performances, from the most diverse genres that revive classic and contemporary major plays, from the drama repertoire that is not only national, but also universal. An ode to the theatre!


Rivoli Theatre

One of the most iconic cultural spaces in the city is Rivoli . Municipal Theatre. Formerly Teatro Nacional, Rivoli was born from a refurbishment of this building and adapted to be a cinema. Also featuring opera, dance, theatre, and concerts.


A true space that privileges all forms of cultural arts.


Puppet Theatre

If you are travelling with your family, including the little ones, a must-visit cultural space is Porto Puppet Theatre - Belomonte Theatre. Founded in 1988, this theatre aims to produce puppet shows.


Come visit it and have fun remembering your childhood with the shows and movements of glove puppets and puppets.

Coliseu Porto

Inaugurated in 1941, the Coliseu Porto Ageas emerges as the largest venue in the country.


At Coliseu you can enjoy a programme filled with cultural arts, such as theatre, ballet, opera, circus, and music. Each of these wonderful shows takes place in a space of stunning architectural beauty, just visiting it is well worth it.


Casa da Música

A building designed by Dutch architect Rem Koolhas, Casa da Música is an icon of Porto’s contemporary architecture, attracting thousands of visitors every year, who can enjoy guided tours in this space.


Here, the shows are musical, included in a dynamic and innovative programme, in a spectrum that goes from classical music to cutting-edge urban trends. Casa da Música has four in-house groups, Orquestra Sinfónica, Remix Ensemble, Orquestra Barroca and Coro Casa da Música, and also invests in the educational aspect with workshops and activities for families. There are many moments for fun and culture in this Casa.


Alfândega do Porto

In 2014, 2015 and 2017, Alfândega do Porto was considered the Best Congress Centre in Europe. Its building was restored by architect Eduardo Souto Moura, it offers unique and multipurpose spaces for holding congresses, dinners, and exhibitions. It also excels for its cultural environment featuring various museum spaces in the building, such as the Museum of Transport and Communications and the permanent 360º immersive exhibition - Porto Legends.


Super Bock Arena – Pavilhão Rosa Mota

In the heart of the Gardens of Palácio de Cristal, this iconic building of the city was renovated and reborn as Super Bock Arena - Rosa Mota Pavilion.


With a focus on a strong sustainability component and modern technologies, this venue can accommodate up to eight thousand people in large-scale cultural, sporting and business events. It is the city's new cultural hub, ready to welcome you in its most diverse events.

Cinema Trindade

Cinema Trindade is a historic cinema in the city of Porto, founded in 1913. In its founding year, its various rooms had a cinema, a ballroom, café, billiards, and terrace.


With a high-quality digital projection, this space organises a programme that, in addition to the films from major studios, privileges auteur and indie films.
